Netflix’s Wednesday casting director John Papsidera has teased “some big storylines” for the upcoming third season of the hit series.
Speaking in an interview with Backstage, Papsidera was asked if he could share any details about Wednesday Season 3. In response, he said, “There are some big storylines that are fantastic in Season 3. The fact that we went to France is a real fun thing, and to have Wednesday explore another world.”
Papsidera also shared his excitement about several new additions to the cast, including Winona Ryder, Noah Taylor, and Lena Headey. “That world just keeps growing in a different way,”
He further added, “Wednesday grows in this kind of population of delicious characters.”
Netflix recently confirmed that Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance will appear as guest stars in Season 3. Winona Ryder has also joined the cast in a guest-starring role. Other new cast members include Eva Green, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, and Chris Sarandon.
Wednesday was renewed for a third season in July 2025, before Season 2 had even premiered. The series is based on characters created by Charles Addams. Showrunner Al Gough had earlier shared that Season 3 will “continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.” Co-showrunner Miles Millar also teased, “We will be seeing more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3.”

Wednesday Season 3 is currently in production.
The series first premiered on Netflix in November 2022, while Season 2 debuted in August 2025. Wednesday remains Netflix’s most-viewed series to date. According to Netflix, Season 2 recorded 124 million views between July and December 2025, making it the platform’s most-watched show during that period.
