Nevermore Academy has always been at the heart of Wednesday, but Season 3 is expanding the story far beyond its familiar gothic halls.
Netflix has revealed a first look at Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday in Paris, confirming that the new season will take the character into a much bigger world.
And judging by what has already been revealed, this trip may be connected to one of the biggest unresolved mysteries from Season 2.
Wednesday Is Going International
The first-look material shows Wednesday in Paris, marking a major change in scenery for the series.
The European setting immediately raises questions about what could bring Wednesday so far away from Nevermore.
Season 2 ended with Enid in a dangerous new situation after becoming an Alpha werewolf, while Wednesday set out with Uncle Fester to search for her.
That storyline gives Season 3 a natural reason to take Wednesday somewhere completely unexpected.
Uncle Fester Is Coming Along for the Ride
Fred Armisen’s Uncle Fester is also returning, making the journey even more unpredictable.
Wednesday and Fester have never exactly been the most conventional detective duo, but their relationship could become one of the more entertaining parts of the new season.
The Paris storyline also suggests that Season 3 may have a larger scale than previous seasons.
Instead of keeping every mystery inside Nevermore, the show appears ready to make the world around Wednesday much bigger.
But Paris May Be Hiding More Than a New Location
The biggest question is why Wednesday needs to go there.
The answer could eventually connect back to Enid, the Addams family, or another mystery that has not yet been fully revealed.
Netflix has deliberately kept many Season 3 plot details secret.
That makes the Paris footage even more interesting.
It isn’t simply a change of scenery.
It could be the first visible clue that Wednesday is entering a completely different phase.
The Mystery Is Getting Bigger
With production continuing and a large group of new cast members joining the series, Season 3 appears to be expanding both geographically and narratively.
Nevermore may still be important.
But for Wednesday Addams, the next mystery might be too big to solve from inside the school gates.
