It’s official. Netflix has stylishly confirmed that Wednesday season 3 is now in production. After Wednesday season 3’s major filming update on Instagram this month, Netflix took it a step further, as the Jenna Ortega-led Addams Family series is growing the cast list.

This exciting reveal shows a blend of horror and fantasy royalty, as well as nods to legacy Addams Family lore. So far, the Wednesday showrunners have kept much of the character specifics closely guarded. However, Wednesday season 3 is providing the chance for Tim Burton to reunite with icons from his filmography. What’s also clear is that Wednesday season 3 will be giving fans what they want.

Eva Green As Aunt Ophelia

The fans asked for more members of the Addams family, and the Wednesday team answered. Eva Green joins Wednesday season 3 as Aunt Ophelia, Morticia’s sister. After her breakout performance in The Dreamers, the French actress gained blockbuster recognition as Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale. Later, she earned critical acclaim for her gothic performance in Penny Dreadful, a series that cemented her as a modern horror icon.

While Ophelia’s character throughout Addams history has seen her as a blonde-haired ‘normal’ member of society, Netflix has not provided specifics on their version. However, the end of season 2 and the graphic used in the season 3 announcement hint at a much darker turn for the character.

Chris Sarandon As Balthazar

Chris Sarandon is an icon across a number of genres. His breakout performance in the crime thriller Dog Day Afternoon earned him an Academy Award nomination, though his most memorable film roles include Prince Humperdinck in The Princess Bride and Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Now, he is reuniting with Tim Burton for Wednesday as Balthazar.

The name will be familiar to longtime Addams Family fans, as Cousin Balthazar exists in extended franchise material. In the 1991 Addams Family movie, Morticia and Gomez reminisce over meeting at Balthazar’s funeral. However, Netflix has not confirmed whether this iteration is connected at all. Sarandon’s horror credentials also indicate that Wednesday is continuing to lean towards a more mature story.

Noah Taylor As Cyrus

Noah Taylor has had an eclectic mix of roles across his career. He earned early acclaim for his lead role in Shine, and later appeared as Dr. Carter in Edge of Tomorrow opposite Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The actor has even portrayed Adolf Hitler on two separate occasions, once in the movie Max, then later in the series Preacher. Known for playing eccentric and unsettling figures, including Bolton bannerman Locke in Game of Thrones, Taylor will bring a distinctive screen presence to Wednesday.

In season 3, Taylor will play a character named Cyrus. For the truest Addams Family fans, this might pique your interest, as a Cyrus does already exist in the broader Addams Family franchise. Cyrus Strange was, in fact, a villain in the animated movie sequels, The Addams Family 2. However, Netflix has not confirmed any direct connection. At present, Cyrus is simply a newly introduced character for season 3.

Oscar Morgan As Atticus

British actor Oscar Morgan has been a prolific presence across the small screen since 2018. Although his first major role came in the CW series Gotham Knights, Game of Thrones fans might recognize him as Valarr Tagaryen in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Morgan has been cast as Atticus in Wednesday, though Netflix has not provided further information regarding the character’s arc or backstory.

Kennedy Moyer As Daisy

Best known for playing Harper in the HBO series Task, Kennedy Moyer is joining Wednesday season 3 as the character of Daisy. Though still early in her career, Moyer has also had big-screen success as Dee in the 2025 biopic Roofman, starring Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst.

Right now, Daisy’s role within Wednesday and the broader Addams Family universe remains unclear. However, the inclusion of another young character suggests season 3 may continue expanding the show’s ensemble beyond the immediate Nevermore students we know and love. Perhaps this addition will connect to more storylines involving Pugsley.

Winona Ryder As Tabitha

Gothic story icon Winona Ryder joins season 3 of Wednesday as Tabitha, marking one of the most high-profile additions to the series, and reuniting her with Tim Burton. Netflix confirmed her casting but has not shared character specifics.

Ryder became synonymous with late-’80s and ’90s gothic cinema after her breakout role as Lydia Deetz in Burton’s Beetlejuice, following that up with Heathers and Edward Scissorhands. All these roles established Ryder as a staple of dark, offbeat storytelling. Most recently, she reached a new generation of fans through her role as Joyce Byers in Stranger Things.

Although Tabitha’s connection to Wednesday Addams has not been clarified, Ryder’s involvement brings significant gothic credibility to Wednesday season 3. Her screen persona and chemistry with Jenna Ortega in the 2024 sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, will line up perfectly with the series’ aesthetic and vibes.
