What Will the Story of Wednesday Season 3 Be About?

The finale of Wednesday Season 2 left fans with more questions than answers — and set the stage for an even darker and more unpredictable third chapter.
One of the season’s biggest twists came when Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) embraced her alpha werewolf form to save Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega). The transformation came at a devastating cost: Enid could no longer return to her human form. After saving her best friend, she vanished into the night, leaving Wednesday determined to bring her back.
Refusing to let Enid face her fate alone, Wednesday sets out on a dangerous search alongside her eccentric Uncle Fester. Their journey eventually leads them toward Canada, where Agnes DeMille (Evie Templeton) confirms that Enid has been spotted.
Myers previously teased what could become one of Enid’s biggest storylines yet, telling Netflix’s Tudum that Enid will remain trapped in her werewolf form while embarking on a journey to discover how to become human again.
That storyline could take Enid far beyond the familiar halls of Nevermore Academy — and potentially introduce an entirely new side of the character.
Aunt Ophelia’s Return Changes Everything
But Enid’s disappearance isn’t the only mystery waiting to be explored.
The Season 2 finale delivered another shocking revelation when it was revealed that Aunt Ophelia is still alive. She has been secretly imprisoned inside Grandmama Hester Frump’s (Joanna Lumley) mansion, where she ominously scrawls the words “Wednesday must die” across the wall.
The revelation could have enormous consequences for the entire Addams family.
Co-creator Miles Millar has already teased the scale of Ophelia’s return, saying that her re-emergence will “hit this family like a bomb.” Whether she ultimately becomes Wednesday’s greatest enemy or whether there is a deeper secret behind her hatred remains one of the biggest unanswered questions heading into Season 3.
And if there is one thing the Addams family has proven, it is that their darkest secrets rarely stay buried for long.
What Happens to Tyler Galpin?
Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) is also heading into Season 3 with a very different future.
In an unexpected move, Wednesday chooses to save Tyler — despite everything that happened between them. At the same time, Nevermore teacher Isadora Capri (Billie Piper) offers him a potential “safe space,” opening the door for Tyler to begin confronting the person he really is.
For Doohan, that could mean exploring a side of Tyler audiences have never truly seen.
“Imagine if we got to see Tyler really smile in Season 3,” Doohan teased to Netflix’s Tudum, suggesting that viewers could finally meet the person hiding beneath Tyler’s darker persona.
However, Tyler’s road to redemption is unlikely to be simple. After everything he has done, he still has plenty to confront — and plenty of people who may never trust him again.
Meanwhile, Millar has promised that Season 3 will expand the Addams family mythology even further, teasing that viewers will meet more members of the Addams family and uncover new family secrets.
With Enid searching for a way back to humanity, Aunt Ophelia emerging from the shadows, Tyler facing his past and Wednesday uncovering more of her family’s secrets, Season 3 could become the show’s most ambitious chapter yet.
When Will Wednesday Season 3 Be Released?
For now, Netflix has not announced an official release date for Wednesday Season 3.
Production is expected to move forward in 2026, with a potential release window in summer 2027. However, fans should treat that timeline as an expectation rather than a confirmed date until Netflix makes an official announcement.
The wait would also be consistent with the show’s previous production cycle. The original Wednesday premiered in 2022, while Season 2 arrived in 2025 — creating a three-year gap between seasons.
If Season 3 follows a similar timeline, fans could be in for another long wait. But judging by the explosive Season 2 finale, there may be plenty of mysteries, family secrets and supernatural chaos to keep audiences talking until Wednesday Addams returns.
