Tyler’s story is not necessarily finished
Hunter Doohan is among the returning cast members for Wednesday Season 3 as Tyler Galpin, meaning the character’s complicated place in the story remains relevant. Tyler has already gone through one of the biggest transformations in the series, and his connection to Wednesday has been one of the more complicated elements of the show. Netflix has not revealed exactly how much of his storyline will be explored in the new season, but his return ensures that there is still unfinished business surrounding the character.
Wednesday has never completely stopped investigating
One of Wednesday’s defining characteristics is that she rarely accepts an incomplete answer. Even when a mystery appears to be solved, she tends to look for the information that was overlooked. Tyler’s complicated history therefore provides plenty of room for another chapter, especially if Season 3 continues the series’ tradition of keeping certain characters morally difficult to understand.
The new season has a much larger mystery to manage
Tyler will not be the only unresolved character returning. Season 3 also brings back Enid, Bianca, Eugene, Ajax, Pugsley, Gomez, Morticia, Fester and other familiar faces. At the same time, the show is introducing a large group of newcomers whose roles are still secret. That means Tyler could become part of a much larger network of characters rather than remaining the sole focus of Wednesday’s investigation.
His return could surprise viewers
Netflix has not confirmed Tyler’s exact storyline, so it would be premature to predict what happens to him. What is certain is that the character remains part of the Season 3 cast, which means the writers have decided there is still something worth exploring. The real question is whether Tyler’s return will answer old questions or create completely new ones.
