Wednesday Season 3 may be much further away from release than fans initially expected. While production officially began earlier this year, new production tracking indicates that cameras are still rolling in Ireland as the series moves through the fall.
According to recent production updates from What’s on Netflix, Season 3 is continuing to film in County Wicklow, Ireland. The production is now expected to extend well beyond its originally anticipated schedule.
Production Has Taken Longer Than Expected
Season 3 officially entered production near Dublin in February 2026. Netflix announced the start alongside a major wave of new cast members, including Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon and Noah Taylor.
However, later production reports indicated that filming was continuing much longer than the initial schedule suggested.
The latest available information places the shoot in County Wicklow during the fall, meaning the series still has a substantial production process ahead before post-production can fully begin.

Why the Longer Schedule Matters
A longer shoot does not automatically mean that something has gone wrong.
For a series as visually elaborate as Wednesday, production involves multiple locations, large sets, visual effects and an increasingly expansive cast. Season 3 is also incorporating international filming, including a Paris sequence featuring Jenna Ortega and Fred Armisen.
That larger scale could naturally require additional time.
The 2027 Release Window Still Stands
Netflix has confirmed that Wednesday will return for Season 3, but the company has not announced an exact premiere date.
Current reporting continues to place the season within a 2027 release window, rather than suggesting a 2026 debut.
For fans, that means the long wait is becoming increasingly real.
The upside? The longer production timeline also gives the creators more room to complete the enormous amount of work required before Wednesday can return to Nevermore.
Until then, every new production update could reveal another piece of what Season 3 has planned.
