Wednesday’s Paris Trip Could Change the Scale of Season 3

Wednesday Addams is leaving the familiar shadows of Nevermore Academy behind — at least temporarily.

Season 3 is expanding the world of the series with a major filming sequence in Paris, giving Jenna Ortega’s character a very different backdrop for the upcoming season.

Netflix itself teased the Paris detour in April, while behind-the-scenes reporting later revealed Jenna Ortega filming alongside Fred Armisen, who returns as Uncle Fester.

From Nevermore to Paris

The Paris shoot took place around the Seine, with Tim Burton directing the sequence.

Behind-the-scenes images showed Ortega in Wednesday’s familiar black-and-white look, while Fred Armisen was also present on location.

The sequence immediately raised questions about why Wednesday and Fester are in France.

Netflix has not revealed the full story behind the trip, keeping the circumstances surrounding the international sequence firmly secret.

Uncle Fester Is Along for the Ride

The presence of Uncle Fester could be particularly important.

At the end of Season 2, Wednesday and Fester set out on a mission connected to Enid after she remained trapped in her werewolf form. Netflix’s official Season 2 ending breakdown confirmed that Enid’s fate and the appearance of Aunt Ophelia are among the major threads leading into Season 3.

That makes the Paris footage even more intriguing.

Could the international journey be part of the search for Enid? Or could Wednesday’s trip have an entirely different purpose?

Nothing has been confirmed yet.

A Bigger World for Wednesday

The Paris sequence also demonstrates how much larger the show’s world is becoming.

Season 3 is continuing production in Ireland while incorporating international locations, alongside an expanded cast and new Addams Family storylines.

For a series that originally centered on the mysterious halls of Nevermore, this represents a noticeable expansion.

Wednesday may still belong in the shadows — but Season 3 appears ready to take those shadows somewhere new.
